My First LSBS DT Projects

I was so excited when I received my first DT pack from the Little Scrapbook Shop. It was chock full of the yummy Crate Paper range 'School Spirit'. I jumped right in and created these two layouts. I have had Lachlan's school photo for a while just waiting for the right papers and embellies to scrap it. These were perfect!

I just love the layered chipboard and fabric brads:

And I added a little doodling to my Thickers:

Of course, the colours in this range make it great for boy layouts in general. I created this layout about my boy right now:

You can find all of these products in the LSBS shop here. And while you are there, why not check out Cath's pre-order for Tim Holtz Distress Inks and re-inkers. The prices are just amazing!
Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments you may leave. :)

They Love To Wrestle

Lil' Red Rocket are celebrating their first birthday this month and are running a sketch challenge where you could win a voucher to spend in their Etsy store. This is my take on the sketch:

I have turned the sketch on it's side and shuffled things around a bit to suit my photos. Can you tell how much I am loving Dymo tape at the moment?! LOL And I've used a bit of masking tape too.

This Old Horse...

We have a beautiful old farm horse that just seems to wander around the place. Sometimes you don't see him for weeks and weeks (and you start to think something has happened to him!) and other times he will hang around the house yard waiting for bread and a pat. He is such a lovely natured animal - so gentle with the kids. You can put a bridle and saddle on him at any time and ride him even if he hasn't been ridden for months, even years.

Luke was talking on the phone the other night to the man that originally owned this horse. He told Luke that he was born on the 6 December 1979 - the same year I was born! I was dumbfounded to think this horse is as old as I am! I just had to scrap a page so that we could remember the date.

Apparently he used to be a champion campdraft horse and would even cut out cattle when wandering through the paddocks with the other horses. What a clever old fella! We are very lucky to still have him and he is the perfect horse for the kids to learn to ride on.

Get Picky

This is my entry for the sketch challenge over at the new challenge blog Get Picky - all about scrapping with multiple photos!

I have flipped the sketch at the bottom. I also decided to use 3 of the same photos. Lots of October Afternoon goodness and a Lil Red Rocket button too.

Thanks for all your lovely comments about my last post! I'm still on cloud 9. :)

BIG NEWS!!

Well it is for me anyway! LOL I am so excited to announce that I will be joining the DT over at the Little Scrapbook Shop!! I can't stop smiling and I still can't believe it! The LSBS forum was the first online scrapping forum I joined. The forum members and DT are such an awesome bunch and I can't wait to get started.

New Life

No scrapping from me - well nothing I can share yet anyway!

I went with Luke and the girls over to our other property (about 80kms north of Chinchilla) on Tuesday to check on the cows over there. While Luke was going along on the 4 wheeler he saw this little fella on the track:

How cute is it! It's a baby plover. Mum and Dad weren't too happy that Luke picked it up but they didn't swoop him, thank goodness!! He showed it to the girls and I grabbed a pic, then he went and took it back where he found it. Sorry about Luke's 'man hands'. You can tell they belong to a farmer! LOL I just love this time of year with new life everywhere you look on the farm. There are lots of little calves being born over there too but I didn't get any pics of those.

Because of all the rain we have had there are plenty of 'weeds' out in the paddocks as well. Michala just loves picking flowers - even if they are weeds! LOL

These little yellow ones are everywhere you look at the moment! I was lucky enough to be given a bunch to bring home.

It's Cybercrop Time...

over at LSBS this weekend. I managed to get 2 layouts done last night. This one is for Nic's step x step challenge - making our own leaves. We had to have at least 3. Here is my layout:

And this layout is for Kerryn's sketch challenge:

I kind of shrunk the sketch and put it on the left hand side of the layout. I just love this photo of Lachie and Darc. I had a lovely order of October Afternoon goodness arrive yesterday and just couldn't wait to use it! LOL
We had bucketloads of rain yesterday and overnight - 95mm all up!! We had our very own river running through the house yard. It's still threatening today but would really love to see the sun. I *think* we've had enough rain for now...

My Crazy Girl

has such an awesome sense of FUN!! She is always the first one to get in and give something a try regardless of the consequences. This layout is about that.
This is my entry for the October Sketch challenge over at Annas Craft Cupboard. The sketch was created by Wendy Smith. I have made a few changes to the sketch and used up some KI Memories lace cardstock that I've had in my stash for a while. I have used lots of Echo Park on this one too!

Speaking of Michala, Luke took her to the doctor yesterday so she could get her 4 year old immunisations. I told her she had to have a needle and she was so excited! LOL She knew what she was up for because she has seen Darcie have hers over the past year. She also knew it was going to hurt but that didn't bother her. She even packed a special present in her bag to give to the doc (which was a copy of our electricity meter reading thingy that I had thrown in the rubbish bin! I bet the doc was happy to get that! PMSL). But Luke said she was very brave, apparently she even looked the second time but she didn't cry. I'm so proud of her! And for being so brave she was given a lollipop, a drink bottle and a little certificate - how cute!

Stash Stomping

The October Stash Stomper challenge over at ScrapBoutique is set by the super talented Emma Stafrace. The challenge is to use her gorgeous sketch and use up any co-ordinating stickers and chipboard in our stash to create a layout. Here is mine:

I used up some Cosmo Cricket 'Joy Ride' to create this page about Darcie. I have flicked some purple paint on the background, used up some scrap pp's and then went nuts with the stickers and chipboard! LOL I love the sketch and think I might just use it again. :)

Happy Sunday...

Any Excuse!

Nicole over at the Little Scrapbook Shop set a little Weekend Warriors challenge for this weekend. It gave me an excuse to scrap last night (not that I really needed one! LOL). The criteria for the challenge was to use masking tape, fabric, a book page and anything else to create a layout. This is mine:

I used masking tape to make the flowers. I had really thick tape so I folded it in half (to cover the sticky side) and made the spiral flower. I then sprayed them with Glimmer Mist to give them some colour. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out! The book page is out of an old farming catalogue - it has everything in it, even the kitchen sink! LOL I finished it off with a Crafty Matters ceramic bird and heart.

Kraft It Up

This months challenge at Kraft It Up is a sketch challenge! You have to draw inspiration from this sketch and use Kraft (of course) to create a layout. You can flip it, rotate it anything you like as long as it resembles the sketch:

And here is my layout:

I have once again used paint as well as some OA paper and Crafty Matters ceramic hearts:

Head over to the blog and see what the rest of the CT have done with the sketch. I can't wait to see everyone's entries. :)

What's In A Name?

The October (really?? October already!) Challenge is up over at Scrap The Girls. This month we would like you to take inspiration from the following Shakespeare quote…..

"What's in a name?
That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."

and use the extra criteria of flowers & buttons. This is my example:

I have used My Mind's Eye 'Alphabet Soup' on this layout. I made the roses myself and sprayed them with a little Glimmer Mist:

I have used paint once again and used journalling strips:

And how cute are the die-cuts from this paper range?

Kate is now using the Mr Linky tool for you to upload your entries however you can still email your entry to her if you like. I can't wait to see what you do with this months criteria.
