In A While Crocodile!

I won't be blogging for a little while because we are going away! Yippee!! I'm really looking forward to getting away from the farm for a week. We didn't get to go anywhere over the Christmas holidays because of the floods so this is our belated family holiday. We are heading to Sydney! We are going to take the kids to Taronga Zoo and do a few other touristy type things. They are so excited - they've never been on a big plane before! But before we go, we are going to spend some time with Mum and Dad. Mum has had a health scare and been pretty sick lately so it will be nice to see her and for her to get to see the kids.

Mower Man

This will be my last post for this weekend, I promise! LOL I just wanted to share another 'just because' layout I whipped up yesterday afternoon. :) I was getting bored with using white cardstock so I pulled out a piece of black instead! I thought I'd see how the paint would go on the dark background. I think this is a real 'me' layout:


I've used some bright Echo Park papers and some ric-rac. There's a My Little bit of Whimsy pin on there too:


I'm using up some of my old tickets and have covered the button with some hessian:


I've done a little doodling on the Thickers and added some clouds:

It's great that Lachlan can now use the ride-on and mow the lawn. It means that I don't have to!! LOL

The Color Room #50

It's pallette number 50 over at The Color Room this week. The monochromatic blue with the white was just up my alley:

This is my layout:

I have used an old photo of Lachlan - he was about 18 months. I have loosely followed the sketch and used up some scraps of paper.

I made the flowers using some old scraps of denim and my I-Top for the brads.

And, continuing with using up my old stash, I have used some chipboard, BG chipboard stickers and brads.

I've misted the background and used October Afternoon alphas for my title.

I'm hoping to do some more scrapping later - the rain is a perfect excuse! Hope you are having a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by...

Going Old Skool

Instead of doing the housework yesterday, I ended up scrapping! :) I was looking through my stash trying to find the right embellies for what I was working on. I realised that I have a whole heap of old stuff that I don't really use on my layouts anymore - things like paper flowers, ribbon, ric-rac and buttons. So I challenged myself to use some of them up.


I have used Echo Park 'For The Record' papers and stickers, a little Bella Blvd paper and some Cosmo Cricket chipboard. I've added a My Little Bit of Whimsy bug. And I pulled out some paper flowers, doodled around the edges and popped a brad in the middle:

I've used up some ric-rac and a couple of playing cards. And there is some paint in the background.

It felt good to be using up some old stuff. I really need to do it more often. ;) Thanks so much for stopping by...

Sharing The Love

Everytime I scrap, Lachlan and Michala keep tabs on who I am doing the layout about. It's like they have a little competition between them to see who I scrap the most - perhaps they're trying to establish who is 'the favourite'! LOL Yesterday I had some ladies around for a scrappy day - including Donna who travelled all the way from Dalby (that's 2 hours each way!). I managed 3 layouts (including a double!) and they were of each of my kiddies - no arguments necessary!


My first layout is for the current sketch challenge at Get Picky. Here is the sketch:

Those of you who read my blog would know that I don't enjoy doing double layouts - but 8.5 x 11 doubles I seem to be able to handle.

I have used October Afternoon 'Schoolhouse' on this one and once again flicked a bit of paint around. :)

I don't think there is a layout of mine lately that doesn't have the title outlined! LOL And I've even added a banner:

This next layout is for the March 15th sketch at Stuck?! Sketches. I have changed it around a little:

I love the bright colours in this range from Bella Blvd. I've misted the background and also sprayed the Pink Paislee Artisan shape. And oh the troubles I had with this flower (hey Donna! PMSL). (On a side note: is anyone else as dissapointed as i am in the 'new and improved' Pritt gel? It's too runny and takes forever to dry.)

And finally a 'just because' layout about my baby:

I've used Echo Park 'Springtime' - I love the pastel colours. I've used a Chip Chop shop fabric flower and popped a brad I made using my new I-Top in the middle:

And a bit of doodling, as usual!

The Color Room

I've played along with this weeks pallette over at The Color Room. I loved the mix of the soft pinks with black:

Here is my layout (sorry for the wonky pic!)

I've used a mix of Prima and Echo Park papers. The flower is made out of tissue paper which I have then sprayed with Glimmer Mist:

I have flicked a bit of black paint around and some more GM. And of course outlined my alphas in black pen!

Michala loves to pick the wildflowers when we are out in the paddock. And I am always the lucky recipient. :)

Earth Hour...

is the theme for this months Cybercrop at LSBS. It was my turn to set the Image Inspiration challenge this time. This is the image:


And there is extra criteria of including something from nature on your layout eg. sticks, leaves, sand or maybe even dirt! Here is my sample layout:


I have used sand on my layout. I flicked Pritt Power Gel on my cardstock with a toothbrush and then poured sand over the top. I then shook off the excess sand:


I've used a mix of October Afternoon 'Campfire' and 'Seaside' on this layout. And, seeing as though it's kinda earthy, I have used Kraft cardstock as my base.


And I'm trying to use up all of my stickers! LOL

It Has To Be Pink!

When I saw the criteria for this months White With 1 challenge I was so excited!! I had been wanting to do a layout about Michala's love of pink for a while now - this gave me the perfect opportunity. So, as you can probably guess, the criteria is white with hot pink and artisan shapes. My excitement didn't last long - it turned to frustration! I have never had a layout give me so much trouble!! I think I have stuck things down and ripped them back up again about a million times, I thought I had the perfect embellies to go with the layout - but can't find them anywhere and when I photographed the layout the colour looks red instead of pink! Grrr!! I'm not all that happy with how it turned out. :( But I will share it anyway:

The flower is made out of a paper doily (thanks Belle Comerford for the idea!). I then sprayed it with Pearl Glimmermist. Yep I think my mojo has definately gone AWOL. :(

Farm Kids

There hasn't been a lot of scrapping going on here that I can share at the moment so I thought I would do an update with my layout from our first Masters challenge. :) This layout appeared in Vol 13 No 2 of Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. We were sent a very GENEROUS pack of goodies from Stampin Up.

The photo is of my niece and nephews. They don't get to come out to the farm very often, but when they do, they have a ball! And their cousins love having them too! I loved the soft blue colour mixed in with the brown in this collection. I made a couple of flowers out of the patterned papers to match the layout. I even pulled out my crappy little sewing machine! LOL

I just wanted to let you know also that it is our March Cybercrop this weekend at LSBS. We are celebrating all things earthy this month with our 'Earth Hour' theme:

These Eyes...

I'm back with a quick layout share - another 'just because'. I'm loving creating layouts just for me. :) Darcie has the most beautiful blue eyes - they are just like her Dads'. I wanted to create a layout about them:

More Echo Park on this one - this time the 'Springtime' collection. I've used a lot of paint on the background. And I pulled out my Big Shot to make the flowers. I've used lots of doodling on this one too! :)

And can I just say how much I {heart} my black gel pen! :) I've used Jillibean Soup alpha stickers too:

Middle Child

Poor Michala suffers from classic 'middle child syndrome'. She will do what she thinks she needs to do to get attention - even if it's the wrong thing. I can see when she is doing it and I can understand why. Because we are aware of it, we try and give her as much of the attention as we can.

I had these photos printed because I was going to use them on another layout. I didn't end up doing that so thought, instead of wasting them, I would use them on a different layout. This is a 'just because' one dedicated to my middle child:


I have used Echo Park 'For The Record' on this one - looooove the colours in this range. :) I covered the kraft envelope with patterned paper so that it would blend in. I have hidden my journalling inside the envelope - it's a heartfelt letter to my gorgeous girl. ;)


Once again I have inked the background and included some more butterflies.

I'm back to share my CT layout for March at Kraft It Up. This months challenge is to incorporate the saying 'There is no greater gift than today.' on your layout - it could be in the title or the journalling. This is mine - not too sure I'm happy with how it turned out:

I used my postage stamp border punch to punch the edges of my yellow pp. I then stapled and doodled around all the little offcuts. I think I am having a love affair with red, yellow and black at the moment. ;)

I have managed to pick up the kids' colds and am feeling rather 'blah' today. I was going to scrap but feeling so crappy is doing nothing for my mojo. I hope it passes soon. :(

Scrap The Girls

So here it is - the 1st of March (WT!!??) And with a new month comes new challenges. This months challenge at Scrap The Girls is a great one! You need to use of Kobi Yamada's quotes as the title and inspiration for your layout. You can find a list of the quotes here. This is my layout:
