It's Been A While.....

since I last blogged but I have had no new layouts to share. :( Scrapping has taken a back seat to life lately and to be honest, I haven't really missed it. Luke and I had our trip to New Zealand at the end of November, which was amazing! And then there has been the end of the school year and the build up to Christmas. Crazy times!!! Hopefully after New Year I can back into it again.

But having said all of that, I did manage to find the time the other day for 1 layout. I found this photo on a disc we got from the kids teachers. This was Michala at her first swimming carvival. I love that she now has the confidence in the water to have a go in the races.

I'd just like to take this opportunity also to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy 2013. Thank you for all your lovely throughout the year too. I really appreciate it. Take care and thanks for stopping by...

D-lish Scraps DT Call!!!!!

Sadly, at the end of next month, my Design Team term at D-lish Scraps will come to an end. I have had an amazing time being part of this team - the products are fantastic and Amanda is great to 'work' for. She is currently holding a Design Team call to find some new D-lish Designers for early next year. Here are all the details:
Good luck to all of you who apply. You will have so much fun! Here is one of my recent layouts using D-lish Products. There are lots and lots of layers on this one.

Under all of those layers, I have started with one of the cute paper doilies from D-lish Scraps. I have then added some yellow polka dot fabric tape and more layers of patterned paper - some that I have cut out using my Nestabilities dies.

After I added my photo, I have created another layer on the top with my dymo tape journalling, the chevron bottle top and the heart & star buttons.

Slacker!

Oops! I've been a bit slack at updating my blog lately, haven't I? Things have been a little crazy and we are getting ready to go away next weekend. Luke and I are going to New Zealand, kid free, for our 10th Wedding Anniversary! I'm really looking forward to spending some time together, just the 2 of us. I'm very grateful to my parents, who are coming out to the farm to look after the kids while we are gone.

Anyway, onto some scrapping. This is a layout I created as part of my Creative Team position at Chelley Bean Designs. We were given some of these gorgeous hessian flowers to have a play with.

I love this photo of Darcie, it is so typically her. She ALWAYS has a dirty face! I don't know how she manages it - part of growing up on a farm, I guess. lol And here are some close ups of the flowers:

A Little Weekend Challenge

Last friday, I sat down to print out a couple of photos so that I could scrap. My printer died when printing the first photo! So I gave up on the idea of scrapping and got on Facebook instead - as you do! lol I put up a status about my failed attempt to scrap. One of my lovely scrapping friends and former fellow LSBS DTer, Belinda Comerford, set me a challenge. She challenged me to go digging out some of my pre-printed photos and use them to scrap with. She then added some extra criteria - monochromatic colour scheme plus one other colour. I am always up for a challenge so I accepted - and she said she would do it too and we could share our layouts on FB by the end of the weekend. So this is the first layout I created.

I've used blue as my main colour with black as the other colour. The photo is from my wedding day in 2002. Here is my journalling.

And here's a close up of some gorgeous new D-lish Scraps flowers that I received in the mail last week - how pretty are they?

This layout is a little different to my usual style but it was nice to mix things up a little. :)

And this was my second layout. I've used Pink and white as the colours on this layout. The photos are of Michala at Playgroup when she was about 2 and a half.

Here's a close up of some of the details and my journalling.

As you can see the sewing machine got a good work out on this layout too.

I've used lots of scrap paper and created a few layers behind the photos. I really enjoyed scrapping these old photos. Belle and I have decided that we will be challenging each other again.

A D-lish Catch Up

I have been a little slack at sharing my creations for D-lish Scraps here on my blog. I have a couple of layouts that have appeared on the D-lish Facebook page but I haven't shown them here. Whoops! This layout is from Michala's birthday.

The pink and blue flowers are available in the D-lish Store, as well as the pink crochet trim.

Here is a close up of the journalling:

And a close up of a resin flower also available at D-lish.

A couple of months ago, Luke got a new farm truck. That man has far too many 'toys'! lol

I have used some washi tape from D-lish. This distressed grey spotty tape is one of my favourites.

And I've used some twine as well.

Don't forget to pop over to the D-lish Facebook page and the blog to see what the rest of the DT have created with these gorgeous products. Thanks so much for stopping by...

Good Times

During the last school holidays, Luke went off and had a boys weekend down at Bathurst for the Bathurst 1000. I decided to take the kids down to my parents in Brisbane for a few days. We got to spend a day with one of my dearest friends and her 3 beautiful girls. We took the kids to the beach and had a little picnic in the park. Everyone had a great time. Here is a layout I have created using one of my friends Instagram pics from the day:

I have done a little subtle misting on my kraft cardstock. I love the colours in this paper range from Studio Calico too. I've added some machine stitching as well.

I am loving these little alpha stickers from Jillibean Soup too. The wooden butterfly is from D-lish Scraps.

And here's another close up of my Prima flowers. They were the perfect colour match for this layout.

Our Little Dancer

Towards the end of last term, the kids at our little school did a little performance for the parents. Michala has always loved to dance, but because of where we live, she's never been able to have proper lessons. She loved performing. This is a 'just because' layout:

Once again I have used a black cardstock background which I have sprayed with some white Mr Hueys. I've used American Crafts papers and a Prima flower.

And a close up of my title.

Little Blondie

Last weekend a couple of my scrapping buddies, Donna White & Sarah Hemmings, came out to the farm for a scrapping weekend. I love it when these girls come to visit me. :) I had a pretty productive weekend and have a couple of new layouts to share. This layout is for this months challenge at Scrap The Girls - to use flowers, 2 different alphas, more than 1 photo and staples:

I have had these Prima flowers in my stash for a little while now and kept putting off using them, so I decided to give them a go on this layout. The colours matched perfectly. (You may see them feature on some other layouts in coming days. ;))

and I'm trying to use up my button stash too! lol

The idea for this layout was totally pinched from Tara Coles. I noticed that she had used black texture paste and templates to create a beautiful background. I found my stash of black texture paste and decided to give it a go. The result was this very simple layout:

And here's a close up of my title.

That's It!

These are the last of my layouts from the Savvy Delights Retreat. This first layout was for one of the challenges - to use the peacock feather on a layout. I have kept my layout very simple:

I have just added a little Mister Hueys mist to the background paper and stuck the feather over the top.

I have sanded the Thickers for a bit of a distressed look as well.

And finally, this was a 'just because' layout. I have used some Basic Grey on this one.

Here's a close up of my title and journalling. Men! *sigh*

And another close up of some of the details:

Have I Mentioned...

how much I love October Afternoon?? I just love every range they bring out and I think I have most of it in my stash! lol These are a few layouts, still from the Savvy Delights Retreat, using some more of their stuff. ;) This one is using 'Cakewalk' - perfect for birthday layouts like this one:

I am loving scrapping Instagram photos at the moment too. Love this one of the kids. And here are some close-ups:

For this layout, I have used a mix of '9to5' and 'Woodland Park'.

And I've used some Bella Blvd alphas that were in the He's Savvy Retreat Kit.

and some more close-ups of my embellies. How cool is that background stamp?? (Thanks Donna for lending it to me!)

I still have a few retreat layouts to share so I'll be back soon. ;) Thanks for stopping by...
