Oh Scrappy Day!!

This morning I had a few of the local ladies round for a scrappy/crafty morning. It was nice to scrap with other people again - I don't do it often enough! I managed a couple of layouts. This one is my entry for the sketch #5 at Get Picky:

I've used Echo Park 'Little Girl' again on this one with some handmade flowers and a My Little Bit of Whimsy pin.

And this is my take on the Feb 15th sketch at Stuck?!. Here's the sketch:

And here is my layout:

I've used a mix of Pink Paislee and Basic Grey on this one. That's our new working dog pup - he's cute but OMG he chews everything!! Hope he grows out of that soon!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments you may leave. :)

A Quick Share...

of the last of my layouts from the CC at ScrapBoutique. This one is for Amanda's letter challenge - the word was FABBO so we needed to include fringing, alphas, buttons, butterflies or birds and orange. Here is my layout:

I kept this one pretty simple - just inked the background and outlined my pp's with my Sharpie. And this layout was for Sonia's roast (blind scrap). The colour theme was black, red and cream so I used these Cosmo Cricket papers:

You may remember I made a New Years resolution to scrap more layouts about myself - well this is one and the photos ain't pretty but they are me! LOL These were taken after a few drinks while out with the girls - need I say more!

Mixing It Up

Yep I'm still alive. I just have had nothing to share this week. My mojo went on holidays - lucky thing! But this weekend there is a Cybercrop happening at ScrapBoutique so I thought I'd join in and see if I can tempt my mojo to come home. This layout is for the sketch challenge. I have pretty much kept to the sketch. I decided to try something a little different from my usual style.

I've used Graphic 45 papers from their LeRomantique collection and some Prima flowers. I'm loving my new Martha Stewart butterfly punch too! :)

This next layout is for Manon's Inspiration challenge:

I've used some Echo Park 'Little Girl' stuff on this one and made the flower out of some scraps of felt. The ribbon and journal spot I have had for yonks too - I think I need to use up more of the old stuff.

So that is all I have for this weekend so far. I'll leave you with a couple of sneaks for next months Scrap The Girls and Kraft It Up challenges.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by...

4-7-11 And A Giveaway

This week it was my turn to set the 4-7-11 Challenge at LSBS. For this term we are looking at the 7 wonders of the world and my challenge is all about our own wonder - the Great Barrier Reef. It's an inspiration challenge and you can find all the details here. This is my sample layout:

I've used Echo Park 'Little Boy' once again on this layout. I added some misting and outlined everything with my Sharpie. Lachlan looks like a spitting image of his father at the same age.

And now for a giveaway. Stuff2Scrap is giving away 2 packages of their new goodies. You can find all the details here.

TCR #45

When I saw the new colour palette this week over at The Color Room, I instantly knew which photos I was going to use. Finding pp's and embellies that matched the colour scheme was a whole different story! LOL I got there in the end. This is this weeks palette:

And here is my layout. The background is actually white but for some reason it looks a little blue :?
The colours of Michala's new swimmers matched perfectly with the colour palette. I have used a mix of Graphic 45 and Pink Paislee. The crochet flowers are from Kaiser and the other flowers are Prima. I have based my layout on the sketch provided too.
Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments you may leave! :)

Happy 1st Birthday...

to the Chip Chop Shop!! It was one year ago today that Leeann opened her Etsy store and to celebrate she is having a giveaway. Check it out here.

Just Me Again!

I found a layout that I haven't shared yet - and it's a 'just because' layout too! I have scrapped this photo of Darcie before, but when I got my hands on some of this Echo Park 'Little Girl' collection, I knew it would be perfect!

I have added some hessian, a paper doily and some tags and used some of the stickers from the Echo Park range.

And made the fabric flowers myself using my pinking shears.

You can find this collection at The Little Scrapbook Shop at the cheapest prices you'll find on the web. ;) Speaking of LSBS, the February Cybercrop starts tonight at 7pm - would love to see you there!

My Masters Entries

Now that a couple of months have passed since the Masters Issue was released, I thought I would share my entries with you. My photos don't look anything as good as they did in the mag - I love the way they set up everyone's work. It looked amazing! This is my single layout with the criteria being at least 3 photos, one which had to be bigger than 6 x 4, journalling using more than 10 words and one recycled or 'found' object.

I just love these photos of Darcie on her first birthday. She's a typical country kid - sitting and playing in the dirt even in her good dress! I found the quote 'Little Girls are Just Angels who Haven't Yet Spread Their Wings' and thought it was perfect for my layout.

I did a bit of quilling in the shape of a heart and attached the chipboard wings.

And my found item was the playing card. I also made the flowers to match the colours in the layout.
My double layout would have to be my favourite of all time. I don't usually do doubles - I always have trouble filling up the space! I decided to do an 8.5 x 11 double so that it would be easier for me. I have used corrugated card as my base. The criteria for this layout was to pay homage to your past and include photos, memorabilia and journalling. I chose to do my layout on how grateful we are to Luke's parents for all that they did for their family. They have both passed away now so this was my way of saying thanks to them.

It was so lovely to look back through their old photo albums when I was looking for the photos to use. Sadly I had so many questions about who the people were or where particular photos were taken that will never be answered. :( Luke was able to fill me in on the bits he could remember (which really wasn't a lot! LOL)

I used a Kraft envelope to put my journalling in and cut out the apples from some October Afternoon pp.

The chicken wire I used on my layout actually came from our old house yard fence. I had to attach it to my layout using wire.

The above photo is a picture of Luke and 2 of his brothers when they were kids. The family used to have a stud back then and would travel around to the country shows showing their cattle.

I included an old picture of our house - it sure has changed a lot since then. The people in the second photo are (left to right) Luke's Mum holding his older brother, Luke's Pop, His Uncle and his Nan.
The third lot of criteria was to create a practical OTP that can be used in everyday life. This one really stumped me for a while - I wanted to create something unique. I really went out on a limb for this one. I found some old preserving jars up in the shed so I made some homemade spreads (using fresh ingredients from the farm of course! The eggs came from our chickens, the lemons and passionfruit were home grown too.) I found this old wooden box and decorated it for a storage box.

I added some Echo Park papers to the inside as well and decorated the jars using some patterned papers, hessian and ribbons.

My biggest fear was that the jars would leak in transit and when the ladies at SBM opened my entry there would be a big sticky mess!! Thankfully it all stayed intact!
So there you have it. I still pinch myself everyday that my entry was chosen as one of the 10 winners. I am so grateful for the opportunity that has been thrown my way.
Thanks so much for stopping by and making it to the end of this mammoth post! LOL

Our Wednesday tutes are back over at the Little Scrapbook Shop. This time we are doing your favourite product used 3 different ways. I am first cab off the rank with patterned paper as my favourite product. You can see all the step by step and details here. Here is my layout made almost completely out of paper - I have added some alpha stickers, journal spot, dymo tape and twine:

I've used some yummy October Afternoon 'Modern Homemaker' on this one - just love it!! :)

I {heart} Your Smile

Darcie has the cutest smile - in fact she has lots of different smiles. There's the 'happy' smile, the 'cheeky' smile and of course the 'I've just been busted doing something I shouldn't' smile! LOL I just love the below photo of her smile (sorry that the photo is so dark - don't know why that's happened, it's not like that IRL). This is my entry for the Feb 1st sketch at Stuck?! Sketches. Here is Sara's sketch:

And here is my layout:

I've used lots of Pink Paislee on this one - I love the green and black together. And I've used some Jillibean Soup alphas as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by...

Cousins & Friends

The criteria for this months challenge at White With 1 is white with brown and use a vintage item. Although vintage is not a style that I do well, I do have quite a few vintagey type things in my stash, so I decided to play along. This is my layout:

I went totally brown - even the photo! LOL For my vintage items I have used an old book page from 1962 and some lace. I couldn't resist using this yummy Prima flower:

And some hessian and twine of course! As well as some paint. :)

I added a paper doily and some buttons too.

And there you have it! Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. :)

Lachie is having a friend sleep over for the first time tonight - he is almost jumping out of his pants with excitement!! LOL Michala is very jealous - oh the joys! I'm sure she will have a friend stay over soon enough too.

More LSBS Layouts and Even Some Cards!!

I have a few more layouts and a couple of cards to share today. These were created with the leftovers from the mini album I created using the Simple Stories 'Life Documented' range that I got in my DT pack from LSBS. This is a fairly simple one - love these photos of Darc. :)

One of my boy - sometimes I can tell what he is thinking. Having 2 younger sisters is pretty full on. He is always willing to help them but sometimes I think he just enjoys having a little time to himself.

And another one of my boy looking very grown up:

And I even had some stuff leftover to make a couple of cards! I'm so not a card maker! LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments you may leave. :)

Scrap The Girls has a new Creative Team and I am super excited to say that I will be staying on it for another 6 months!! :) You can see who else is on the team here. February's challenge is also up on the blog - a nice easy one this month, a sketch! Here is the sketch:

And here is my layout:

I actually pulled out my crappy little sewing machine for this one!! LOL I have used Cosmo Cricket 'Circa 1934' on this one - love the colours in that range. :) I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's creations.

Kraft It Up February

I cannot believe it's the 1st of February - where did January go??!! I don't like how fast this year is going already. :(

Anyway I have some scrapping to share. Remember this sneak?

Well this layout is for the February challenge over at Kraft It Up. It's a colour challenge this month. Here is the palette:

I love these colours together! And it must be on Kraft of course!! Here is my full layout:
I've used a mix of My Mind's Eye and Crate Paper on this one and gave my dymo labeller a pretty good work out too! LOL Head over to the blog to see what the rest of the CT have done - you won't be dissappointed. Oh, and while you are there, check out who the featured CT member is this month! ;)
