Nothing New

I have been a terribly slack scrapper this past week so I have nothing new to share. I do, however, have a layout I can now share with you - it appeared in Vol 13 No 4 of Scrapbooking Memories magazine. :)

This layout was created using one of Sara's sketches back when I was on the CT at Stuck?!. It's about our hire car from our Perth trip - we'll never forget it! LOL

In the same issue was my Masters layout for the Kaszazz challenge but I forgot to photograph it before I sent it away and now it's packed away in an album somewhere. Oh well.

We have a busy weekend coming up - off to a cocktail party tomorrow night and then it's Sports Day for the kids at school on Monday. And then I am due at the dentist bright and early Tuesday morning. I'm exhausted just thinking about it! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Forever Friends

Do you ever wonder how your kids will get on when they become adults? Do you think they will be close or only see each other at family functions? I really hope that mine are like best friends and can call upon each other whenever it's needed. I snapped these piccies of them the other day when we were over at our other property. They were playing really nicely together (for once!).

This layout is for the sketch challenge for the Easter Cybercrop at Scrapboutique. I have used a mix of October Afternoon ranges on this one - a bit of 'Schoolhouse' and 'Campfire' with some Jillibean Soup alphas in the title.

The tree sticker was perfect for this layout. I've added the cute little tin pin as well and used foam tape under the word sticker for a little dimension.

I hope you have had a wonderful Easter break. Ours was a quite one spent at home. The kids have been busy drawing, scrapping, playing outside and eating lots of chocolate of course! We even went horse riding the other day - the first time I had been on the horse for a long time. I didn't go very far but man I have a sore bum!! LOL

Go Get 'Em Tigers!

This is my layout for this months challenge at White With 1. The criteria this month are white + olive green + twine. I was surprised at how much olive green I have in my stash! I even found a tube of olive green paint!
I took this photo of the kids at Taronga Zoo. I think they make pretty cute tigers! LOL I have used lots of layering and texture on my layout. There is paint under the pp's - you just can't see a lot of it coz I covered it up! Ooops! I found some olive green hessian in my scraps and have used Echo Park, October Afternoon and My Mind's Eye stickers.

And I've used some Jillibean Soup and Basic Grey alphas for my title:

Have you checked out my little giveaway in my previous post? I would really love to see you play along. Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Hello Luscious

I was sent some gorgeous Basic Grey 'Hello Luscious' in my latest DT pack from the Little Scrapbook Shop. There are so many bits & pieces to this range - the colours in the patterned papers are perfect for girl layouts and the embellishments are just gorgeous. You can find them in the shop here. Here is the first of the layouts I have created: I just love this photo of my big girl and I. She gives the best squishy cuddles. I have used the transparencies, die-cuts and chipstickers on this layout - no pp in sight! This is the next layout: Such yummy colours to work with. I've used a bit of paint on this one. And finally a set of cards made using some of the scraps. This range is just so versatile! Thanks so much for stopping by.....

Decked Out!

That's the name of our Easter challenge over at LSBS. What better way to spend the Easter break than eating chocolate and scrapping! Sounds like bliss to me!! Hope you can play along. :)

A Bit Of A Mix

I did say I would be back! I have a couple of challenge layouts to share. :) The first one is the April 1st challenge at Once Upon A Sketch. I am a little late in uploading it for the challenge (had to be linked by the 14th!) but I thought I would share it anyway. You needed to base your layouts on this sketch: and include at least 25 words of handwritten journalling. Here is mine:

I have used Crate Paper 'Toy Box' again on this one. My journalling is around the edge of the pp's. I have used up some October Afternoon stickers as well. :)

This next layout is for this months 123 Challenge with the criteria being the colour lime green, the word 'really' and use fabric. Here is mine:

I have mixed a bit of black and hot pink with my lime green - I've used up heaps of scraps of pp and some of my old paper flowers. I have used a bit of hessian as my fabric.

And finally a 'just because' layout:

I took these photos of Michala when we were in Sydney. I have used some Cosmo Cricket 'Upcycle' on this one as well as a bit of paint (again!).

No More Photos!

It seems I am becoming a weekend blogger! :( The weeks are getting so crazy busy that the only time I get a chance to take the time to blog is on the weekend. But I did manage some scrapping through the week - for a colour challenge on the Crate Paper Blog. Here is the pallette: How gorgeous is this colour combo? And Emma's Shoppe was the perfect range for this combo. Here is my layout:

I was trying to get some nice photos of Michala the other day. She started pulling this face when she had had enough. I knew it was time to give up! LOL

I've also used some Chip Chop Shop and Cosmo Cricket doilies and added a few Cosmo Cricket butterflies as well. For the title I stuck the letters to black cardstock and cut them out.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments you may leave. I'll be back later to share a few other things I've been working on...

What Do You Do When...

you can't sleep at 3.30am on a Sunday morning? Get up and scrap of course!! There was no way I could sleep last night. I hate when that happens - especially on the weekends! I made the most of the time to myself though and did the April 1st sketch at Stuck?! I have used some pics from our trip to Sydney: I have used my new Crate Paper 'Toy Box' on this one! And some Chip Chop Shop chipboard. I'm still using up my old stash with these Jenni Bowlin Studios alphas.

Oh and here is the sketch. I have turned my photos to landscape. :)

My Big Girl

My Big Girl seems so grown up all of a sudden! How did that happen?? She is so excited about going to school next year - it's all she ever talks about! I have been wanting to create a layout about it for a while so I decided to use this months challenge at Show Us Your Stuff and do it! :) The challenge is to use pink, yellow and blue (one of my fave colour combos), a handmade item (of course!) and base it on this sketch: I have changed the sketch a bit by using only one photo. Here is my layout: I have used Crate Paper 'Emma's Shoppe' on this one - I'm so in love with the girliness of this range. I have used 3 different coloured Glimmermists on the background too. My handmade items are the buttons which I have covered with fabric and hessian.

Paper Piecing....

is what it's all about for my card sketch challenge at this weekend's Cybercrop challenge at LSBS. Here is the sketch:
And as for the challenge, you need to base your card on this sketch and also use paper piecing to create the embellishment for your card. Here is my example:

I made the bunch of flowers by cutting the vase and then punching out the flowers. I have used foam tape to give them dimension. If you would like to play along, you can find all the details here. And check out what the other DT girls have done. Don't forget, you could win a $15 voucher to spend in the store. Cath has been adding heaps of yummy new products over the last few weeks - you'll want it all!!

I have been scrapping over the last few days but can't share anything just yet. ;) Thanks for stopping by...

We're Baaaack!! :)

We arrived home last night! I am soo happy to be sleeping in my own bed again. Now I just have to tackle Mt Washmore. :( But we had such an awesome time - the kids had a ball and were all so well behaved. They are totally exhausted though. I will post some pics of our trip once I get a chance to upload them. And now onto some challenges. April's challenge at Scrap The Girls is to draw inspiration from this pic:
This is what I have come up with. My apologies for the dodgy pic - I had to photograph it in a hurry before we left and of course it was overcast!

I drew inspiration from the tree, butterfly and birds in the picture. I've used lots of misting and some yummy crochet trims and circles from the Chip Chop Shop. :)

I gave my I-top another whirl and covered this brad with hessian. And keeping with my theme of using up old stuff in my stash, I have added the green ribbon. ;)

And for this months challenge at Kraft It Up it's a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 challenge, you must create a layout based on the following...

1 piece of Kraft cardstock 2 photos smaller than 6x4 3 different Alphas 4 different patterned papers (yes you can use the reverse side of one sheet as long as the pattern is different) 5 different embellishments

** Paint, Mists, Distressing and any other technique based creating are not classed as embellishments, you can still use these of course but they do not count as your 5 embellishments, you need to think chipboard, ribbon, twine, journal blocks, flowers, buttons, jewels/bling, pins, tapes, stickers, handmade embellishments, paper clips, lace, tabs, diecuts etc...

And this is what I have come up with:

I've used a mix of October Afternoon 'Modern Homemaker', 'Farm Fresh' and 'Campfire' on this one. I didn't take any close up pics - sorry.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for both challenges this month. Thanks so much for stopping by...
