Chevron Love

It's no secret, I am a bit of a fan of chevron patterns, so when Amanda added all these new chevron products to the D-lish Scraps store, I was in seventh heaven!! lol Here is a layout I've created with some of the new products.

These bottle caps are my favourite - and they come in a whole heap of colours! You can find the flowers in the store too.

How cute are these polka dot bottle caps? They also come in a whole heap of different colours and have the pattern on both sides so you can turn them over if you want!

I've used one of the Journal It's behind my photo too.

There is also some new chevron washi tape in store! You can find it here.

Make sure you head on over to the D-lish Store and check out all the other new products including heaps of gorgeous flowers. :) Thanks so much for stopping by...

Crazy Silly Faces

What is it with kids and them pulling faces whenever there is a camera around? I found these selfies of Lachlan on his iPod and they made me laugh. I thought I'd scrap them.

I have used some gorgeous Studio Calico 'Heyday' on this layout. The journal card behind the title is by Ormolu and I've used AC Thickers and October Afternoon stickers for my title.

This little wooden camera by Studio Calico was just perfect for this layout.

And I've added a little bit of Echo Park 'Everyday Eclectic' in there too.

I hope you are having a great week. Thanks for stopping by...

Wet Sloppy Kisses

During our few days at the Sunshine Coast, we took the kids to Underwater World. Unfortunately for us, the big glass tunnel that has all the sharks in it was closed for maintenance but as a consolation, they were offering free seal kisses for the kids. They all got to have a turn - even Darcie, who was more interested in patting the seal (even though they weren't supposed to touch it! lol). This is a layout of Michala getting her wet, fishy kiss:

And it is my entry for the August 15th Sketch at Stuck, based on this sketch:

As you can see, I've turned the sketch on its side and used patterned paper for the rectangle shapes. Here is a close up of my title:

Once again, I've used Basic Grey 'Paper Cottage' on this one. I just love the patterns and colours.

No layout of mine is complete without some washi tape from D-lish Scraps on there as well. I've splashed a little bit of Mister Hueys on the background and added some chippy shapes too.

Thanks again for stopping by...

I Got An iPod

Following on from my last post, about Lachlan's birthday, I have another birthday layout to share. We gave Lachlan an iPod Touch for his birthday. The look on his face, when he opened it, says it all! lol

I have used some Crate Paper 'Storyteller' on this one. I've layered lots of patterned paper, tags and stickers. I've used some Basic Grey and Jenni Bowlin stickers for the title.

And I used my Crafters Workshop chevron template to cut out these shapes.

And another close up of some chipboard and the date:

8 Already?

Last week it was Lachlan's birthday. He turned 8!! Where has the time gone?? As we were on the Sunshine Coast, we took the kids to Underwater World for the day and then Hungry Jacks for tea (his choice! lol). And of course, we had cake!

I have used some yummy October Afternoon 'Cakewalk' on this layout. It sure is perfect for birthday themed layouts. :)

I just love the new brads that are now part of OA's collections.

And I gave the old black pen a bit of a work out.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments you may leave. I love reading them.

Year Of The Farmer

Early last month, the lovely Helen Kinsella at Red Earth Scrapping, asked me if I would like to be a part of the 'Year Of The Farmer' Cybercrop for the month of August. It was a fantastic opportunity to give a bit of an insight into life on the farm. You can read all about it here. We were also asked to create a layout that represents something about our lifestyle. I chose to create a layout about one of our trusty working dogs, whose name happens to be Bruce! lol

I've used a mix of Crate Paper and October Afternoon papers on this one. The resin flower is from D-lish Scraps (of course!).

Here's a close up of some of the journalling:

And another close up of one of the clusters.

You can still take part in the Cybercrop and get to know some of the other guest scrappers for the month. Check it out here.

Kraft It Up

We're back from a few days away at the Sunshine Coast. The weather was perfect for us - clear sunny days and warm temps. When I arrived home the mailman had delivered me some yummy new scrappy goodies to play with. I jumped straight in! lol This is my layout for this months challenge at Kraft It Up. It seems like forever since I played along there.

The criteria was to use this sketch and create lots of layers.

I have used some of the gorgeous new Paper Cottage range from Basic Grey. I think it would have to be my favourite from them. ;) Here's a close up of some flowers (available at D-lish Scraps) and the cute little wooden girl is by Studio Calico.

These Thickers were a perfect colour match. I've layered some washi tape, paper, stickers, chipboard and an accordian flower here.

I have used a Crafters Workshop template and some gesso for the background.

and tucked some of the hand dyed muslin from D-lish under the photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Published Layouts

I haven't been doing a lot of new scrapping lately so I thought I would share a couple of layouts that have been published recently in Scrapbooking Memories and Creating Keepsakes. This layout was in SM Vol 14 No 8. It was part of the Technique feature on how to use a dymo labeller to create journalling.

This layout was in the same issue - in the Haberdashery gallery:

This next layout was in SM Vol 14 No 9. It made it to the Editors page so was one of the first layouts in the mag. lol

This layout was in the same issue. It was part of the 'Celebrate' feature - Celebrating Strength.

And finally, this layout appeared in the Aussie Readers Gallery in Creating Keepsakes issue 17.5.

We are heading off to the Sunshine Coast for a few days this week. I'm looking forward to getting away for a bit of a break. Thanks so much for stopping by...
