Some Challenges

I spent the last weekend at the Wicked Princesses Retreat in Brisbane. I had such a great time - all the girls are fantastic to scrap with. And the best part was that I got to scrap!! It's a rarity for me these days. :( Anyway, I managed to get a couple of challenges done - Scrap The Girls and Stuck?! Sketches. This one is for Scrap The Girls - to use this great long quote on a layout. lol
I scrapped this layout for my friend Peta. The photo is of her two gorgeous daughters. I've used some Crate Paper 'Story Teller' again.

Love the mix of colours and patterns in this range. I had to hand write the quote:

And here's another close up:

And this is my layout for the May 1st sketch at Stuck:

It's kinda based on this sketch:

And here are a couple more close ups:

I still have heaps of other layouts to share but I won't overload you today. ;) They should keep me blogging for a while. lol

The Photo Bomber

For Mothers Day, I got to spend the day with my Mum and my Nana, along with my family, at Mum and Dad's place in Brissy. It was only the second time since I had become a mother myself, that we have all had the day together. It was lovely. The afternoon was spent sitting around relaxing and enjoying a few drinks on the lawn.

Michala wouldn't let me take her photo. She kept hiding behind my Dad's chair and would pop her head out every now and then. I pretended I was taking a photo of my Dad and she happened to pop her head around the corner at just the right time - cheeky thing!
The cardstock for this layout almost found itself in the bin. I had tried something on the background and didn't like how it turned out. I knew I was running low on Kraft and didn't want to waste it, so I threw a little bit of white paint around on it and covered the rest up with paper and embellies! lol

I've used some more Ormolu products on this one. The chevron tag and the little camera badge are from there.

And so is this journal spot. The rest of the layout is Crate Paper 'Story Teller'.

Here's a close up of the title:

I am heading off to the Wicked Princesses Retreat on Thursday with my favourite scrappy peeps! I'm taking my neighbour, who has never scrapped before and tells me she doesn't want to, but I bet she scraps something before the end of the weekend! lol I have heaps of new goodies that I want to have a play with. I'm excited that I will get some uninterrupted scrappy time. :) Well in between the eating and drinking! lol I will hopefully have lots to share when I get back.

Dirty Dog

A couple of months ago we added a new member to our family. His name is Pirate and he is an 11 month old Golden Retriever. He was originally a city dog, but he has really settled in well to life on the farm. He loves going for a walk with me every day and is a little bit too keen to chase the chooks! I try and bath him once a week but sometimes I wonder why I bother. He is always covered in red dirt! lol I took this photo of him yesterday - he was filthy!
I have used some Echo Park 'Note to Self' on this one. And another star embellishment from Charms Creations.
A few weeks ago, I was given a tip off from the gorgeous Kellie Daley, of an online store that sells these cute badges. It's called Ormolu and this is a taste of what you can buy from them.
And I've added some dymo journalling strips as well.

Tonight is my last night as a mother of a 2 year old. My baby is 3 tomorrow and I am struggling to know where the last 3 years have gone. We are having a little party with the neighbours whose son was born on the exact same day! I am sure they will have a great time. I will post some pics shortly.

Those Eyes

I've been scrapping again. :) This is another 'just because' layout. I have used some Cosmo Cricket 'Tea For Two' on this one:
It's a bit girly, isn't it? lol I have used some gorgeous Green Tara flowers and a flower from Charms Creations.

And I've used another chevron badge from the Greatest View. I've nearly used up all my stash of these. :(

And here's a close up of the title:

You Can Sleep Anywhere

A couple of days ago, Darcie went with Luke to get a load of firewood for our wood stove. He always puts the kids in the wheelbarrow and takes them for a ride on the way to the wood pile. On this day, he had taken Darcie to the wood pile, then left her in the wheelbarrow while he went and got something from the shed. When he came back, this is what he found. When I went out with the camera, all I could see were her feet hanging over the end of the wheelbarrow - too cute!
This is a 'just because' layout using some yummy Crate Paper 'Story Teller'. It's also based on a PageMaps sketch.
I just love bikes at the moment. :)
And I've used some new Thickers too.
It was really nice to scrap for myself today. I haven't been doing a lot lately and I am really missing it. I just can't seem to find the time these days. Maybe that's because I've been busy concentrating on my health and fitness. I have just completed my first round of the 12 Week Body Transformation and have lost almost 14kgs! I am feeling fitter, skinnier and a lot healthier. I still have another 7 or so kgs to go. I'm hoping to lose those in round 2!
