What A Weekend!!

I have just returned from an awesome scrappy weekend. I went to the first ever Wicked Princesses Retreat on the north side of Brisbane. Krissy did an amazing job of organising it - she's only ever been to one retreat herself! I don't think I have laughed so hard in all my life! I was lucky enough to sit with an amazing bunch of hilarious and extremely talented scrappers. I can't wait to do it all again next year. :)

I managed to create 14 layouts over the weekend. There are a couple I can't share just yet and I won't bore you with all the others all at once so here a couple to get you started! LOL I think this one would have to be my favourite for the weekend. I just love these photos of Darcie enjoying some pumpkin soup. The paint was the perfect colour to match and the flowers, trim and button are all Krissy's My Vintage Blossoms.

I had been saving my October Afternoon 5 & Dime especially for the retreat. This is one of the layouts I used it on:

And then used a bit more on this simple layout:

I've used a bit of Cosmo Cricket 'Social Club' on this one. I made the flowers myself, using my antique pinking shears and some buttons made with my I-top:

Oh and a bit more 5 & Dime on this one too:

So there you have it! I will be back later to share the rest of my creations from the weekend. Thanks so much for stopping by...

Can You Guess?

What these sneaks are for?

This is the only scrapping I have managed for a little while. :( I will rectify that this weekend when I head off to the first ever Wicked Princesses Retreat! This is just what I need this weekend. I have been sick with the flu and now the kids have it. I'm sure Luke will be able to cope with it though! Hahaha!

I'll share my creations when I get back! Thanks for stopping by...

Already?

It's seems like just yesterday I was posting on my blog announcing the birth of our new little girl. And today, she turns 2!! Where did the time go? She is a very happy, sometimes determined, always cheeky little person and we wouldn't have her any other way!! Happy Birthday my gorgeous Miss Darcie!

And speaking of birthdays - my favourite scrapbook shop, LSBS, is turning 6 and this weekend we are having a birthday Cybercrop to celebrate! :) It's a masquerade party and I can't wait!

All the fun starts tonight with bingo! Would love to see you there.

Who Would Have Thought?

A few months ago I made a resolution to scrap more layouts about myself. I realised that I don't have ANY photos of just me with the kids. So I thought I'd better rectify that! While Luke was snapping some pics of the kids recently I decided to jump in there too - only there wasn't a lot of room! LOL And so it may not be the best photo you have ever seen - it does have me with my kiddies in it. I had to use it on a layout:

I've used Cosmo Cricket 'Social Club' on this one. Love the colours in this range. I've kept the layout pretty simple and added some crochet spots and a couple of buttons I've made myself with my I-top. Love the chipboard alphas too:

The postie delivered me a lovely parcel yesterday choc full of yumminess from the Little Scrapbook Shop. I just had to jump right in and play. :) Thanks so much for stopping by and for any comments you may leave...

Giddy Up!

Darcie is so funny! She will pick up any type of stick and pretend to ride it like a horsey! lol The day I took these photo she had picked up one of the pieces of pipe that Luke uses when working with the cattle in the yards and 'rode' it all the way up to the chook pen and back. :) I just had to scrap a layout about it:

This is my entry for the current challenge over at Once Upon A Sketch. I managed to get it linked in time! ;) Here is the sketch with the extra criteria of journalling onto a journal spot:

And a few close ups. I've used Crate Paper 'Emma's Shoppe' AGAIN - just love this range!!

I've added a Prima flower and some Jillibean Soup alphas as well.

National Scrapbooking Day!

It was last Saturday! Did you do anything special for it? Echo Park Paper were having a Facebook competition. All you had to do was create projects using their products and post on their page today. Here are a couple of layouts I created. This one using 'Springtime':

I pulled out my pinking shears to make the flowers. I've used lots of doodling on this one too. :) And this layout was created using 'For The Record':

I love this photo of Luke and Michala (not sure about Luke's beard though - he looks a bit wild and wooly! LOL) I kept this one pretty simple.

Oh and I have a little toot! I entered a couple of my layout in our local show and managed to pick up a 1st and 2nd prize! Now I just need to work out how I'm going to spend my $2 prize money! LOL

Finally...

I've scrapped! It's been so long I didn't think I knew how to anymore! LOL But there's nothing like a challenge to get you back on the wagon. Here is my take on the current sketch at Stuck?! - created by the amazing Julie Winks.

And here is my take:

I've used a mix of Crate Paper and October Afternoon and broke out my new Glimmermist! Please excuse the black line on the picture - there must have been something on the camera lens. And this layout is for the new challenge blog Beyond The Door. You need to draw inspiration from a room image and also add a few extra criteria. Here is mine:

I drew inspiration from the letters on the wall as well as the colours of blue and orange. And keeping with my resolution to use up old stuff, I have pulled out these old Basic Grey alphabet stickers. :) I've used a bit of Echo Park and a bit of Crate Paper on this one too.

I'm hoping to get some more scrapping done tomorrow too - will see what the family have planned for Mother's Day. ;) Thanks for stopping by...

Super Slack!

I've been a bit of a bad blogger! It's now the 4th of the month and I haven't updated with my CT layouts for May. First up is Kraft It Up. This month's criteria is to use Kraft and NO patterned paper. Here is my layout:

I have used fabric, hessian and a journalling card instead of patterned paper. And I've added more twine:

Lots of layering and using up bits and pieces on this one. I may have gone a little crazy with the stapler!

Head over to the blog to see what the rest of the CT have come up with. :) And the challenge at Scrap The Girls this month is to scrap a layout about an inspirational woman in your life with the extra criteria of more than 20 words of handwritten journalling. Here is my layout - using some yummy Cosmo Cricket 'Upcycle':

My journalling is hidden inside the envelope. It's a little personal - about my Mum's breast cancer diagnosis in February of this year. :( She amazes me at how positive she is about it all - she says it's 'just a bump in the road' and she is determined to beat it. And I know she will.

I went a little crazy with my border punches and doodling! I even pulled out some of my Kaiser stamps.

I covered the envelope with patterned paper to help it blend in more and have used Jillibean Soup and Echo Park alpha stickers for the title. I've thrown a few October Afternoon stickers and chipboard in there too. So who is an inspirational woman in your life? I'd love to see you play along.

I'm really hoping that I will get a chance to scrap this weekend. It feels like forever since I got to play with paper and glue.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Take care...
