Turning Five

It's Michala's birthday next Saturday and she is going to be five. She is so excited and thinks that on that day, she will be able to start school and know how to read and write! It's so cute listening to her talk about it! I haven't got the heart to tell her that she still has to wait until next year. I thought I would record this memory and have used this layout as my entry for the Sept 1st sketch at Stuck?!. It also happens to be today's sketch for the September comp at Scrapbooking From Scratch. Here is the sketch:

And here is my layout:

I have used some Crate Paper 'Portrait' on this one and added the Prima vine. I have added some journalling to tell the story too.

Thanks so much for stopping by...

  1. gorgeous layout. In New Zealand they do start on their 5th birthday. Sad she has to wait a bit longer seeing as she's so excited. Take care xx

  3. Just beautiful! I love the vine in place of the piece on the side and I am having a real love affair for film strips at the moment.

  6. Poor little poppet. Hope she isn't too disappointed when she realises she has to wait that little bit longer. On the other hand though isn't it lovely she is so eager to go to school :).

    Your page is gorgeous Lauren!!!
